Did the pricing and research for building the Blockface stamps. Will work on building the etching printer and hopefully finding wing nut bolts for the build without it being an arm and a leg. So far, pricing them both, looks like the bolts are reasonable but if I want matching nuts? Not sure how this will work. Other than having the original bolts suggested. Will work on all of that later. First will just get back into the groove of the shop.
Sat in on Heather’s Print class today and was able to help someone whose name I do not remember from last semester find out about the Design Lab and we walked over and it was a nice day to do that. The walk was good for me and a way to get out of the shop. We found that there is no Fusion 360 loaded but plenty of computers with Illustrator. I will be going there eventually to find out how to do the cut lines and all the things I need to be able to help students printing on the Roland.
Recognized something with Chris. His precision makes my body cringe. It’s not him. It’s the amount of detail that I am trying to take in when he is talking. At least I was able to say that and know what it is. Such a visceral reaction is really uncomfortable which makes being around him uncomfortable and it is easy to blame him. Challenge? Not really. What I like about me, sometimes, is that just recognizing what the problem is, solves it.
Did not spend a lot of time helping with the class since we are not that deep into the semester. They are just being introduced to the space and its systems, and the easiest stuff. I did get to do some receiving work. Got to learn where things get stored after they are checked in. Some things go into lockers for safe keeping and some go out into the work space. Big challenge was remember how to get into our Teams and the Kanban for ordering. I might actually remember to remake my notes this time so that I can find them and re-read them later!
