For over a year, now, I have been working in the SacCity Maker Space. This has been one of the greater Adventures I’ve been engaged in. It is unexpectedly satisfying. It also fills out so many areas of curiosity and pleasure.
That the space is part of a community college is one of the unexpected pleasures. I have visited a space that is absolutely delightful and inspiring. It is in the Woodland California Public Library–one of the Coolige created libraries–in its own little space called Square One. I love going there and also sharing what I know with them as I take back to our Maker Space what I learn from them. The biggest thing I personally learned from my visits is that I prefer the college atmosphere to that of the library.
College and the library are very different kinds of places. In the college, I feel more of a “mutuality”, something that gesture as a figure eight between myself and an other.
